Words of welcome from our Ministry

Thanks to the Age of the Internet, you are now able to contact us and we you via this, our Church Website. We hope you will enjoy your visit and be tempted, if you are ever in Cornwall, to call in and see us.

Paul is a Parish covering 3,235 acres in Penwith District of West Cornwall. The normal population is around 2500 but this increases to between 3000 and 4000 during the holiday season. As well as our own church, there are two Methodist chapels in the parish and their service times are 11:00am and 6:00pm, the minister is Revd. Julyan Drew. We hold a number of joint services and activities during the year, one of the most popular of which is an outdoor “Songs of Praise” held on Mousehole Quay.

Within the boundaries of Paul Parish are two quite large housing estates, the fishing village of Mousehole (right), also a favourite holiday spot, the village of Paul itself with its shop, post office and public house, and a number of small hamlets and outlying farms; part of the picturesque beauty spot, Lamorna Cove, is also within Paul Parish. Church members come from all parts of the Parish and outside it; congregations at our main Sunday morning services average 90 – 100 people and visitors are always welcome. A variety of activities take place during the week and again new members and visitors are always welcome. A monthly Parish Magazine is produced and twice a year copies are distributed free throughout the Parish.

Paul is one of 26 parishes in the Deanery of Penwith and is part of the Diocese of Truro, the latter has its own website where you can find more information about churches in Cornwall; literature is also available in Paul Church together with a short history of the church. We hope you will be able to visit us in person some time, but if not, we hope you will enjoy finding out more about us via this website and perhaps be able to share something of the presence of God which those who have worshipped here over many centuries have felt, and still do today.
