In the churchyard behind the Church Hall in Paul Village there is a low granite headstone
with an inscription that reads as follows:-
Every year, on the nearest Sunday to this date, a service of remembrance is held in the church to commemorate the brave crew of the Penlee lifeboat, Solomon Browne, who gave their lives while attempting to rescue the crew of the coaster Union Star.
On Wednesday morning the 26th of June 2002 many gathered in Paul Parish Church to
